I had the opportunity to brand and create a comprehensive suite of assets for Wadi Rum, a desert World Heritage site. My work included designing materials for a New Yorker ad and developing pamphlets, signs, informational texts, maps, letterheads, and a website. Incorporating some of my own photography, I utilized the brand elements and a custom logo I created, resulting in a cohesive ecosystem of design elements that effectively capture and promote the unique beauty and significance of this iconic desert landscape.

3 Promotion Strategies

To leverage the cultural and historical significance of Wadi Rum to attract history and culture enthusiasts, it is important to promote the area's ancient rock inscriptions and other historical sites. This can be done through marketing and advertising campaigns, as well as through partnerships with local tour operators. Hosting special events and festivals that celebrate the cultural and historical significance of Wadi Rum can also be effective, such as a cultural festival that showcases the area's rich history and heritage. By focusing on these strategies, Wadi Rum can attract history and culture enthusiasts and showcase the unique experiences available in the area.

To promote tourism to the area, Wadi Rum could leverage its connection to Hollywood by offering a "film tour" that takes visitors to the locations where movies were filmed, create a marketing campaign that highlights the area's connection to the movies, and host special events and festivals that celebrate the films that were shot there. Wadi Rum has been a popular location for Hollywood films, with a number of big movies being filmed in the area. Some of the most notable Hollywood films that have been filmed in Wadi Rum include: Lawrence of Arabia (1962), Red Planet (2000), The Martian (2015), Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016), Aladdin (2019), Dune (2021). Creating events inspired by these.

To promote tourism to Wadi Rum, it is important to highlight the area's unique, natural beauty and outdoor adventures, such as camel riding and hiking. Partnering with local businesses to offer special packages and deals can also be effective, as well as utilizing social media and online marketing to showcase the area's beauty and experiences. Additionally, promoting the cultural and historical significance of Wadi Rum can attract history and culture enthusiasts to the area. By focusing on these strategies, Wadi Rum can attract more visitors and boost its local economy.
